Bye BYe 2010, Hello 2011

10 years ago, I was 13, listening to Britney Spears, buying smash hits magazines and had a big crush on Devon Sawa. Who is he? Exactly.

5 years ago, in 2005, I was chubbier and have not worn braces. I was duped into taking a terribly difficult course which I love to hate and I had no idea.

5 years later, 2010 is such a great year, I can’t believe it’s almost over!!

Let’s look back to the highlights of the year:

- I finished my studies in UTP! And said bye bye to Tronoh!

- I graduated with a degree!

- I started working!

- I went Cuti-cuti Malaysia to : Desaru! Pulau Pangkor!

- I went to New Zealand!

- I went to Beijing! (Post will be up in January!)

Of course, there were more. But these are the ones I documented.

I’m sure many of you regard this year as a year of challenges and new beginnings especially those transitioning into the new world of 9 to 5. Or maybe you’re beginning university life.

Whichever it is, take stride, buckle up and enjoy the ride. You’ll never know what’s ahead of you so brace yourself. New year is going to be another fantastic ride!

Happy New Year everybody!

Montage of Beijing, China

This is a short 3 minute video that I made for Beijing. Took me a few hours to create, but me and my brothers had so much fun doing this. Hope you enjoy watching it and do let me know what you think!

On Crying at Singing Stewardesses and More

I don’t know. What makes you cry? Is it the last Titanic scene where Jack dies? Is it when your cat dies? Do you cry at commercials?

Last week I found myself tearing up to a visit Malaysia commercial, which is weird, I know. There’s a monologue in my head: if I’m an old lady now, I would be so proud that Malaysia has come this far. Look at that, Malaysia looks so beautiful and welcoming. The people are all hot. The food is 5 star choice. What’s not to love in Malaysia? I think I was overwhelmed by this super patriotic feeling.

If Malaysia government wants everybody to be patriotic, they should start sending people to other countries on vacation. I would vote a hundred times for that clever government.

Anyway, this happened on the plane back from Beijing. Thank god nobody saw because that would be an embarrassment of the century. Crying at a Petronas ad, yes maybe, but crying at a tourism video?

Ok so last week I was all “where to find winter bootzz???” So I asked around and everyone pointed either to Aldo or Nine west and stores like that. But actually I was really looking for Ugg boots. You know, them comfy fur winter boots? Unfortunately, no one had any idea to find them. And I was stupid enough not to pick one up in New Zealand. (arghhhh!)

So, I went to China wearing tennis shoes. There, it was like heaven. There were not only Ugg boots, but all the boots that I posted and more! And cheap! Well, cheap-er.

I got these babies!

ugg box uggbooty

I got myself Bailey Button Uggs! WEEEEEEeeee victory dance!!!!

As for the question whether they’re real or not, no, I don’t think they are, because of the price. Real Bailey Buttons costs around RM 465 but this is half price. BUT. I know it’s real leather and real fleece inside and branded to look EXACTLY like Ugg boots. I’ve checked every inch. So who’s to say they’re not Uggs? Hm? Hm?

Next up: Beijing trip post! Starting to look like my life is one big vacation, even gotten not so nice remarks concerning my FB. But I’m telling you here: life is not a bed of roses for anybody. What they gain, they lose in other parts. Therefore, don’t judge before you ask! Asking is fine, asking is goooood.

Where To Find Winter Boots?

One fact that I’d just like to share: Playing video games makes you irritable and anti-social. At least for me, because I get that irritated feeling whenever someone calls my name to “help out” or do something.

I don’t always discuss work stuff but yesterday was weird. My work lets me meet a lot of different people. Some hot some not so much. So yesterday after an appointment, my colleague Steve and I stopped by a company’s office and asked if we can talk to the manager.

The lady sitting down by the reception looks 38-ish, with a dazed expression on her face. She said no. Steve continued, anybody else in this office besides you? While pointing into the office and making gestures for emphasis. With so much of a hint of life in her, she shakes her head. So Steve said, can you give me the contact number of the person in charge? She said no. Dazed. Looks down at paper on her table.

Steve tried again, saying, so maybe you can give us some promotional brochures or anything that we can take back? She gave a small nod, woke up and went to the back. Veery slowly. Steve looked at me and was like, “wtf?”

I looked away and pretended to look at the models, all the while laughing my head off inside. My soft toys looked more alive than her! And also a drugged person was 5 times more responsive. Two words, aunty on crack –_-

By the way the main reason I’m writing is because I just realized that its HARD to find winter boots in KL! I’m talking about the 2 inch thick, made for snow ones. I’ve been looking for them everywhere! Where are they?

Long story short, the original plan to Mecca is being cancelled (Saudi’s fault) and we’re replacing it with this. (Can’t really call it replacing because the purpose of going to each is totally different but yeah).

But if any of you are looking for winter boots, you might as well just buy them at wherever you’re going or order online. But that would cost a bomb. So which one? I’m going to say it depends on you really. I’m choosing the latter.

New Zealand Part III

I’m a bit pissed because somehow my part III got deleted after I spent 2 hours on it. Now I’m just going to post pictures and a holiday post-mortem. Apologies *_*

Verdict

I would go back if I could. I would cover the places that I haven’t been to. I’d stay in Queenstown for at least two days to enjoy the activities there. They’ve got so much! If you’re into these outdoor sports like me, you’re gonna love it.

If I could do over, I would go horseback riding, bungee jumping, canyoning, and jet boating. During winter, this place is fantastic for skiing.

Best city: Queenstown

Most under-explored place: Christchurch

Must see/do: Whitewater rafting, Milford Sound, activities in Rotorua, Hobbits house in Mata Mata.

Approximate time to spend in NZ: At least 2 weeks to cover the whole country.

Read Part I and Part II of my NZ trip!

Thanks for reading!
